Book review: Warsaw

traveller guides Warsaw, 4thtraveller guides Warsaw, 4th by Thomas Cook Publishing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is great for the traveller who’s interested in more than just a map and the highlights. The contents include an elaborate section about history and culture, before going over to suggesting walks around town and other practical information. You will find a lot of informations about the different sights around town, important buildings, museums and monuments. It also gives the reader great insight to what is maybe most special about Warsaw; the fact that almost all of the old part of town is rebuilt after WW2. Most of the city was demolished, even several hundred years old castles and churches was dynamited to rubble. Although, walking around the Old Town, you would never guess it. We would absolutely recommend this book, it is suitable for most travellers and combines historical and cultural information with practical tips and maps of the city.
